How about showcasing another photographers work? Manions photos really arent that great, photos on 56 Hope road are often blurry, no focal point, truly the work of an amateur….
Chuck needs to learn the art of what a true photographer is trying to emolish, trying to capture instead of posting a largely childish comment such as his posting on 27 Oct.
Thank you for your recent comment on groovinatthegrind.com. Our site currently features the photographic work of Don Manion and Matt Montgomery.
In regards to your remarks about Mr. Manion – he is in fact an amateur photographer and is by no means trying to portray himself otherwise as your comment suggests.
Mr. Manion receives no compensation for his efforts – he simply enjoys photography and uses The Grind as a learning opportunity to improve his techniques. For this reason, Don has become part of the family here at The Grind.
In regards to the comment posted by Chuck on Oct. 27th – Apparently he is a fan of Don Manion, and as such, is entitled to his own opinion of Mr. Manions work (just as you are too).
I don’t really think this is a “showcase” of Don Manion’s photography. He is simply posting the photos he takes while HE IS THERE. And I happen to think they are nice photos, along with those of Matt’s, Go ahead and take some pictures Marla, they might just get added to the site. I think The Grind is open to just about anything. It is the perfect example of people working together, not preferring one thing to another. It’s all about community. It is great, however to see your comment posted – that means you are at least looking at the website.
Input and communication is wonderful! I hope to see you at one of the upcoming shows.
I stand behind my comment. Photography is ART, art is not a person but a way of self expression. This expression can be through pictures, paintngs, drawings, music or whatever. If you don’t like my comment dont read it, never heard of a comment critic yet, you may be breaking new ground, maybe that can be your art MARLA.
I choose to create instead of being a bitter critic.
I have seen Don’s photos and enjoyed them. I agree with Chuck -AND…. Would like to thank the Grind for letting the kids play there this past Saturday as well as a few months ago. I got the chance to play with my kid as well onstage and it was quite fun. Cudos to everyone there for the work they did!
I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion but we should all remember that we are all amateurs……As for the 56 Hope RD. show if you were there you would be more understanding. No one could take a “great” photo-due to the fog machine!!!!
I love Don’s work- he is a great photographer and he truly does capture things that most people miss. Plus he has fun at the same time.
We are more than thrilled with the pictures he took of our family this year. He truly captured the joy and individuality that each one of my children posess. Thanks Don we love you.

Excellent photos by Don and Matthew. They consistently capture the emotion and energy of the performers. As a body, they also promote the look and feel of music at the Grind, a great complement to the Grind and to the web site.
GREAT JOB with these photos. They all remind me of what it was like to have been at the BEST show ever @ The Grind!
